Why Hydration Changes How Skin Looks
Water is the cheapest, most underrated ingredient in skincare. Well-hydrated skin simply reflects light better.

Skin is roughly two-thirds water. When it is well hydrated, cells sit plump and smooth, light reflects evenly, and skin takes on a soft, healthy glow. When it is dehydrated, the surface becomes uneven and light scatters — which reads as dullness.
Hydration and moisture are often used interchangeably, but they are different. Hydration is water inside skin. Moisture is the oil-rich layer that keeps water from leaving. A complete routine provides both.
The layering principle
Essences and watery serums deliver hydration first. Creams and oils then seal it in. This is why the order of a routine matters more than any single product.
“Glow is not a product. It is hydration, protected.”
